The origins of Behind The Blonde go back to September 2001 when Adrian and Fiona met on a sound recording course at the local college.
After a brief flirtation with a five-piece line-up Fiona’s partner James joined to form the current trio. Fiona has sung in a wide variety of styles, from Scottish traditional in her youth, via Goth bands to the mixture of traditional and modern acoustic material the band now feature. Adrian has played in a variety of jazz, blues and pub rock bands, as well as assorted acoustic outings, and contributes guitar, tenor and octave mandola, together with a bit of singing.
For James, on guitar, this is his first band. With a live sound developing instrumental harmonies and the clear, high voice of Fiona the band can always be relied on to provide an interesting and eclectic listening experience that ranges from the Eurythmics to Childe ballads via Bonnie Raitt and Sandy Denny
