Dana Bartlett - public performance debut!

This was the big one for me - the "Birthday Bash" on Sunday 19 August 2007 to which I invited friends and family and what a night it turned out to be!

More than 50 of us crammed into the small back room of the Tudor Rose, singing our hearts out and enjoying the South African traditional "boerewors" roll and hospitality.
Featured act tonight was Cruel Folk who had driven all the way back to Norfolk from Milton Keynes to play and we weren't disappointed. A mix of humour, friendly sibling banter between Sean and Paul and excellent musicianship set the pace for a great showcase evening of local talent.
The night also hallmarked the public performance debut of 9 year-old Dana Bartlett when she played "Happy birthday" for me and we all sang along with her. Cheers for that Dana and keep on playing - great things come from small beginnings!!
Along with a fine mix of solo singers, the instruments played were double bass, banjo, autoharp, guitar, Uilleann pipes, harmonica, Bodhran, flute, mandolin, Bazouki - and my favourite the "squeezebox" (accordion) and if I've missed any out, please forgive me!
I was particularly blessed at the support from the Wisbech Folk Club - thanks guys, I hope to visit you soon.
